Recently, the Milwaukie (OR) city council voted unanimously to pass Ordinance #2118. This ordinance extends the time period for “No-Cause” Termination Notices to 90 days. The statewide standard is 30 or 60 days depending on length of tenancy. Exceptions to this new rule are week-to-week tenancies and those that occupy the same unit as the landlord.
This ordinance is only effective only in the city limits of Milwaukie. It was passed with an emergency clause – so it took effect immediately.
If you have received No Cause Termination Notice after than Tuesday, April 19th, that notice should be reissued with a 90 day notice period.
